As the season draws to an end and LSU’s window to lose players to the transfer portal comes to a close, the Tigers roster is finally getting to a place where you can start to guess what the lineup will look like. This offseason, the Tigers have added a ton on offense landing a Quarterback, three wide receivers, a tight end, and offensive line help. As the Tigers get set to head into the Winter before camp, here is our projection for the 2025 depth chart.

Position Starter Backup Backup
Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier Michael Van Buren Collin Hurley
Running Back Caden Durham Harlem Berry Kaleb Jackson/JT Lindsey
WR-X Nic Anderson Chris Hilton Kylan Billiot
WR-SL Aaron Anderson Kyle Parker Jelani Watkins
WR-Z Barion Brown Zavion Thomas Destyn Hill
TE Trey’Dez Green Bauer Sharp JD LaFleur
Left Tackle Tyree Adams Bo Bordelon Solomon Thomas
Left Guard DJ Chester Carius Curne Paul Mubenga
Center Braelin Moore DJ Chester Brett Bordelon
Right Guard Josh Thompson Coen Echols Devin Harper
Right Tackle Weston Davis Ethan Calloway Ory Williams

At Quarterback it’s pretty straight forward, Garrett Nussmeier returns as the starter while the Tigers added Michael Van Buren who may be the quarterback of the future but, he also comes with SEC experience and could step in if needed.

At running back, the Tigers will return Caden Durham who burst onto the scene as a True Freshman for LSU. After Durham its all up in the air, LSU brings in two massive recruits in Harlem Berry and JT Lindsey who will fight for the role as the second running back but, if Kaleb Jackson can return to his freshman form he could be the backup due to his experience.

The most exciting position heading into 2025 is the Wide Receiver position where LSU returns a ton and added top end players in the transfer portal. Nic Anderson, Barion Brown, Aaron Anderson, and Chris Hilton Jr are all viable pieces to lead the team in receiving. Zavion Thomas, Kyle Parker, and Destyn Hill should all play role in the offense while Jelani Watkins and Kylan Billiot should play roles after developing this season.

The Texas Bowl proved that Trey’Dez Green will have to be the top tight end next season as he’s too talented to leave off of the field. Transfer addition Bauer Sharp will help in replacing the blocking ability of Mason Taylor while True Freshman JD LaFleur could see playing time early on due to a lack of other bodies in the room.

The offensive line is the most difficult to project given the fact that LSU will need to replace four of five starters. This offseason, LSU added transfers Braelin Moore and Josh Thompson who will likely start at Center and Guard. In the Texas Bowl, Tyree Adams played well at Left Tackle, DJ Chester will likely move to guard. The lone starting position that is uncertain is Right Tackle where we’ll likely see Weston Davis first in line for snaps this Spring. True Freshmen Carius Curne and Solomon Thomas are talented enough to start on day one but, with Curne enrolling early he’ll have the best shot at starting.
