AFC Bournemouth have ‘agreed terms’ with Chelsea for wonderkid in January move
AFC Bournemouth have ‘agreed terms’ with Chelsea over a January move for wonderkid Zain Silcott-Duberry, according to reports.
The deal includes a sell-on clause and future incentives for first-team appearances, football transfers expert Fabrizio Romano posted on X.
Silcott-Duberry is set to sign a three-and-a-half year deal with the Cherries, which will keep him tied to the south coast club until June 2028.
The 19-year-old winger is known for his dribbling, creativity, pace, work rate, versatility and ball control – drawing comparisons to the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Raheem Sterling.
Silcott-Duberry, born in Hackney, started out at Norwich City before he switched over to Chelsea’s academy in 2017.
He has represented England at under-16 and under-17 level with the talented teenager set to leave Stamford Bridge without making a first-team appearance.
Silcott-Duberry did, however, play for Chelsea U21s in last season’s EFL Trophy, featuring in matches against Northampton and Oxford United.
He is now heading to the Vitality Stadium, where Bournemouth have been flying this season under the management of Spanish boss Andoni Iraola.
Bournemouth secured a point at Chelsea in their last Premier League match, which ended in a 2-2 draw, with the Cherries very much in contention to qualify for Europe for the first time in their 126-year history.
Iraola’s side have been busy in the January market, with Chelsea youngster Silcott-Duberry set to become their third signing.
