Sky Sports reporter says he was ‘told’ Nottingham Forest confident of signing £40m star
Nottingham Forest are working hard behind the scenes to try and add to the squad ahead of the transfer deadline
Evangelos Marinakis is keen to land a new forward. The Reds have Chris Wood as the club’s top goalscorer, with Taiwo Awoniyi backing him up from the bench.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is now out injured indefinitely it would seem. As a result, at least one forward will be targeted before the window closes – if not two!
Forest like the look of Matheus Cunha. However, he’s valued at around £70 million this summer and with that in mind, it’s highly unlikely that he will be leaving Wolves in the midst of a relegation battle.
Another name on the shortlist at Forest is a Premier League striker. Yoane Wissa was coy when quizzed on Forest earlier this week nad perhaps this is a name that shouldn’t be discounted.
Nottingham Forest expect to sign Yoane Wissa
The Brentford player has scored 11 times during the 2024/25 campaign. He’s very much the main source of goals from the final third for the Bees and Thomas Frank doesn’t want to lose him.
Forest are looking at a number of players ahead of the deadline. Now, some information has come to light on Wissa and one Sky Sports reporter has been told some news from a source at the City Ground.
Rob Jones explained: “As for Yoane Wissa, it’s quite interesting. I was at the Nottingham Forest game, eleven days ago when they beat Southampton 3-2 and had a conversation that day and someone told me that Forest were really confident of getting Yoane Wissa over the line between that day and the deadline on Monday.
