Dodgers GM Offers Free Agency Update On Ex-Red Sox Fan Favorite

This player would come in handy for the reigning World Series champs

The Los Angeles Dodgers need a way to fill out the fringes of their star-studded roster after a handful of splashy moves this offseason.

That’s where an ex-Red Sox fan favorite could come in handy for the reigning World Series champions.

The versatile Kiké Hernández, who spent parts of eight seasons with Los Angeles across two separate stints, is still available on the free agent market and Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes offered an update Saturday on where the club stood with Hernández.

According to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya, the Dodgers are keeping the “door open” for Hernández returning for the 2025 season.

Bringing back the 33-year-old looks like a solid move that would give the Dodgers the most bang for their buck. Hernández can play multiple positions on the diamond — the only ones he didn’t suit up at in 2024 were catcher and right field — making him available to fill in at wherever is necessary.
