While no further details were provided regarding the injury insurance clause, presumably, this would see the 22-year-old return to Argentina should he suffer a season-ending injury at Goodison Park.
Nevertheless, the deal has been signed, sealed, and delivered, and David Moyes has finally bolstered his squad ahead of another relegation battle this year.
Although Everton sources revealed to Goodison News on 3 February that discussions were underway to bolster the squad further on Deadline Day, no such signings materialised with PSR still very much a concern.

However, the immediate attention will turn to the FA Cup fourth-round tie against Bournemouth on Saturday (8 February) – the Cherries have already completed the league double over the Toffees.
Evertonians will be able to catch the first glimpse of Alcaraz at Goodison Park, with Bryan King expecting the Argentine to make his full debut on the weekend.
The Blues have notoriously struggled in front of goal all season, and despite scoring eight goals in four outings under Moyes, Alcaraz will provide the creative spark desperately lacking in central midfield.
