DONE DEAL: Wrexham sealed €3.2 million deal with Plymouth Argyle to land striker Ryan Hardie.

4 Wrexham transfers Ryan Reynolds can still complete in January including mega-money deal

Wrexham could be in for a busy end to the January transfer window as owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney aim to back Phil Parkinson side’s promotion challenge

Hollywood-owned Wrexham could be busy ahead of the January transfer deadline in a bid to revive their automatic promotion hopes.

The Red Dragons, owned by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have so far brought in one new face in Hull City winger Ryan Longman. Wrexham paid a reported fee of £500,000 for the 24-year-old last week, fending off competition from second-tier side Oxford United.

However, their hopes of a top-two League One finish suffered a major blow on Tuesday night as they slumped to a 3-2 home defeat to Stevenage. The result leaves them six points behind second-placed Wycombe Wanders in the table, with leaders Birmingham City holding an eight-point advantage over Phil Parkinson’s side.

The manager tore into his players after the Stevenage game, and if Wrexham are to stand any chance of catching their rivals, then more arrivals could be necessary before Monday’s deadline. Parkinson confirmed they are still keen to make signings on Thursday, telling The Leader: “We know what we’d like to do. We’re trying to bring players in and if we do, great, but if we don’t, let’s regroup together.”

The North Wales outfit have been closely linked with several strikers during the current window as they have struggled for goals so far this season. With all that in mind, Mirror Football has taken a look at four signings the A-list owners could sanction as they aim to flex their financial muscle ahead of Monday’s February 3rd deadline.

Ryan Hardie

Reynolds and McElhenney might have to dig deep into their pockets for at least one of these potential signings. Plymouth Argyle striker Ryan Hardie is among the players who have been linked with a move to the Racecourse Ground.

As reported by Football League World, the forward would come with a hefty £2m valuation if the Red Dragons choose to pursue the 27-year-old’s signature. Hardie joined the Pilgrims in 2020 and has netted 64 goals in 230 appearances, helping the club climb from League Two to the Championship.
